Sightseeing near Mahapurush Nyahari Niwas - Devbaugh - Tarkarli
Mahapurush Nyahari Niwas is located in Devbaug south of the famous Tarkarli beach. The beaches in itself are the main attraction in Tarkarli however there is lots to see around Mahapurush Nyahari Niwas for a funfilled holiday in Tarkarli.
Located off the coast of Devbaug near the 'sangam' a few minutes from the homestay, Tsunami island is the hub of all the water sports activities in the region. Devbaug sangam where Karli backwaters meets the sea is also one of the most picturesque spots.
For the ones interested in historic spots the sindhudurg fort in Malvan a few kilometers from Devbaugh is a must visit. Rosary church in Malvan one of the oldest churches in western India is also worth a visit.
There are also some exotic islands off the coast here. The Nivati rocks is one of the beautiful rocky island here apart from the lighthouse island with a beautiful beach.
The state government has approved a Rs.-509 crore project to build India's first oceanarium in Todavali, half an hour from Devbaug. Sea World, which is slated to begin construction in September 2014, will include theme-based restaurants, 3D dome & theatre, an underwater studio for film shooting and a mock Antarctica among several other attractions. The park is expected to be open to public in three years.
